We analyze digital terrain models to describe physical characteristics and assess selected surface processes on a preliminary basis. Services include elevation, slope and aspect maps; potential runoff paths; watershed and drainage-network delineation; terrain profiles; indicative measurements; and maps of shadow and solar exposure. The resulting terrain information can inform further assessment and studies.
Requirements addressed by these services
- Examine basic topography at a site.
- Identify potential water-flow paths.
- Understand drainage from elevation models.
- Estimate volumetric differences between a surface and a reference elevation.
- Understand estimated spatial differences in solar exposure.
- Check voids, NoData, ranges and continuity before analyzing a surface.
